Lucy Cavendish College will be your home while you’re studying at Cambridge. The college is centrally located and your room will be on site or close nearby.
"I applied to Lucy for the great location and friendly atmosphere, and particularly love it for the supportive staff, range of work spaces and passion for the local environment. I'd also recommend it for some of the best College veg/vegan food I've come across and for the pretty grounds!"
Welcoming community
Our College community is welcoming, supportive and stimulating. You will find many opportunities to discuss your work, collaborate with other students, improve your academic and personal skills and grow your networks. The shared goals of tackling 21st Century challenges and having a positive impact on society – through your academic work and beyond – draws our community together across all the courses and research programmes.
An informal college
We are an informal college, so you will meet and get to know other students, staff, fellows, tutors and supervisors in the café, dining hall and social spaces, and at talks and special events. You will also have opportunities to meet business leaders, alumni and experts from many different fields, thanks to our strong external links and partnership programmes.
Excellent facilities
Our facilities include a gym, dining hall with servery, bar, café, library, a music pavilion, informal social spaces and beautiful gardens.

Great central location
We are a pleasant 10-minute stroll into the heart of Cambridge city centre. University Faculties and Departments, the University Library, and the West Cambridge site – which also includes the University Sports Centre and the Wilberforce Road Sport facilities – are a short walk or cycle ride away. A subsidised bus service gets you to the Railway Station and to the Addenbrookes Biomedical Campus.
But although we are close to the city centre our college remains remarkably peaceful and secluded, even in the summer months when many tourist groups visit Cambridge, and at a time when students are revising for exams.
